COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 Safety Precautions

Montana Science Center is OPEN!

Before you come, please consider:

  • If you or anyone else in your household feels sick FOR ANY REASON, please choose to visit when you (and they) are feeling well again.
  • If you or anyone else in your household is awaiting results for a COVID-19 test, please do not come to the Science Center. We’ll be here when the test is negative, no worries!

How to enjoy your visit:

  • Visitors 5 years of age and older will be required to wear a mask while in our building, including during programs.
  • Most programs are pre-registration.
  • Look for the orange gears around the museum to locate our numerous hand-sanitizing stations. Clean hands ensure a healthy experience and keep the exhibits clean for all visitors.
  • Please do your part to practice social distancing by keeping your group together and moving to other exhibit areas that are unoccupied.
  • Wipe down exhibits before and after you play! Disinfecting wipes are available for you to use. By helping with touchpoints, we can keep everyone safe - kinda like at the gym.

New Winter Hours:

Open Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri & Sat from 2-6pm. Closed all day Wednesday for deep cleaning.

Cleaning practices by MSC Staff:

MSC staff will disinfect surfaces, components, and “high touch” areas like door handles. We will be rotating out exhibit pieces with fresh pieces twice daily. Wipes and “dirty bins” will be available for used pieces. In addition, we’ve installed sneeze guards, 10 hand sanitizing stations, HEPA filters, additional UV lights in our air ducts, and removed many hands-on components, and replaced them with other interactive exhibits. Fresh air is circulated frequently in our building each day. Deep cleaning with disinfectant will occur nightly. Our staff will be required to wear masks at all times.

Still unsure? That’s totally fine.

We have virtual opportunities to engage in the Science Center!

Virtual Learning continues.

If you cannot or do not wish to visit us during our first days back, we completely understand and look forward to welcoming you when you feel more comfortable returning to the Science Center. In the meantime, keep visiting, connecting, and learning by tuning into our YouTube Channel and on our social media pages.

Take-Home Science Kits are here.

What to learn more? Our take-Hhome STEAM kits will be available for purchase this winter. Pick up your kit from MSC (or have it shipped, if you are not local!) Kits include instructional materials, supplies, and tutorial booklets that dive deep into STEAM topics that are fun and relevant.

How can you help?

Support from our community is critical right now to sustain programs, our space, and our incredible staff! Without the staff, we wouldn’t be able to continue our mission to create science connections for visitors of all ages. Please consider making a contribution to the Science Center.
