Come join us for Open Lab, where we explore innovative and relative opportunities in our ever-growing world. In the STEAMlab, we build circuits, undertake soldering projects, learn how to 3D print, use the laser cutter, break open electronics to see how they work, and many more projects. Limited to 12 participants in the Lab at one time.

Coding, 3D design, soldering and engineering come together to create the awesomest wearable technology. After school, all semester long, middle and high schoolers gather in the STEAMlab to work on their projects, led by educators and area professionals. At the end of the semester, during a juried "fashion show," students will show off their interactive creation. Limited to 10 students.
Join us today for shared storytime, hands-on science experiment, and take-home activity on various STEAM topics. When the program is done, stay and play on the exhibit floor!
Grades 1 - 5 | 9am - 3pm (aftercare available)
$70 | registration required
In honor of Black History month, we'll be learning about BIPOC scientists and inventors thorough stories, experiments & activities.
In the morning, we will focus in particular on contributions to NASA and space exploration, after which we will use our STEAMlab’s Glowforge laser printer to bring our own drawings of space rockets to life, and embed a message in binary code! After lunch and play time on the museum floor, we will shift our focus to the contributions of influential African American engineers and inventors, and learn how to use the engineering design cycle to build and race our own wind-powered toy cars. Come join us for this exciting day of STEAM fun!

Our second session of Elementary Home School Science is enrolling now! Experience an exciting hands-on lesson every Wednesday from 11:00 - 12:00 for six weeks (no class for spring break). Our next session, appropriate for K-5th grade students, will focus on electricity and magnetism, and will incorporate both science experiments and engineering projects.
Middle School Home School Science, also starting Wednesday February 23rd. This enrichment class for 5th-8th grade will take place from 1:30 - 2:30 every Wednesday for six weeks (no class for spring break). Our older learners will explore electrochemistry, and will be designing their own experiments and executing more complex engineering projects.
